Christmas is a superb event that is filled with all the cheer, joy and wonder. People all around the globe celebrate this day as religious or secular Christmas. This day is filled with lots of happiness. Every year Christmas celebration will be celebrated with different cultures. These countries are United Kingdom, USA, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Norway, Cyprus, Switzerland, Denmark and many more. Every country celebrates Christmas according to their culture. I would like to tell you some traditions of Christmas all over the globe.
- Celebration of Christmas in United Kingdom:
In Great Britain, almost all the families celebrate their Christmas event all together, and also watch presents and gifts which they share with each other. Mostly families celebrate this day with a Christmas tree at home and decorate this tree with ornaments and different colors of light all around the tree. It is basically a tradition and every one like to decorate this tree at homes. The tree of Christmas was 1st spread by the Prince Albert of UK, he is the hubby of Victoria Queen of UK. His hubby belongs to Germany and like this celebration of Christmas in the UK.
Mostly people use to decorate their homes as well with the help of Mistletoe. Ivy and Holly. The famous lights of Christmas in UK are located in the Oxford Street. Each year people are going to watch the lights and spend time there.
- Celebration of Christmas in Norway:
The time of Christmas Eve when all the presents are to exchange with each other. These gifts are mostly bought by the Famous Santa Claus which is called as “Julenissen in the Norway”. The gifts are bought by gnomes who are often called “Nisse”. Children came and pick up their gifts which are placed under the tree of Christmas as well as open the cards which are placed on every gift and read the message loudly.
In some areas of Norway, mostly kids like to sing the songs and almost all the kids do. These kids are also dressed up and also perform different characters in skits. These skits are related to the Christmas like Wise man and the Spepherds and these kids also go from one place to another near to their homes and sing these songs in front of them. One more tradition in different area of Norway is every night the families light a small candle in the homes that starts from the day of Christmas to the New Year day.
- Celebration of Christmas in Germany:
A massive part of Christmas celebration is Advent in the Germany. Numerous kinds of calendars of Advent are mostly used in homes of German. As a tradition, cards are used in some countries. Even they celebrate the day of Christmas with a wreath the branches of trees with fire with the help of twenty four decorated hand bags and boxes as well. Each bag or box has a little small gift inside it. Other type is called the Advent Kranz along with the ring of fire branches that includes four candles in it and these candles are mostly used in the Churches.
