Guidelines for Physical Activity

Physical activity on regular basis can be very good for people. Aerobic exercise can specially be helpful for preventing disease. Research studies have proved that fast walk for 15-20 minutes daily can reduce the probability of diabetes, stroke or heart attack. People can also divide their exercise time in two parts each consisting of 10 minutes. Adult people should carry out activities for muscle strengthening for no less than two days in a week. For controlling weight, fast walking is more advantageous than the slow walking. Bicycling can also offer similar advantages as that of fast walking and it is more easy option for people.

More Activity Means More Benefits

It should be kept in mind that balanced aerobic activity for two hours in a week can be a good beginning point. Doing exercise for longer time can bring more benefits. Vigorous and moderate lifestyle activities such as dancing, wood chopping and trimming lawn with push mower are also included in weekly exercise quota, provided that these activities are continued for a minimum of ten minutes.
Some of the recent studies have shown that chances of early death are greater in people who are spending more time in watching television, riding in the cars or sitting. It must be noted that inactive lifestyle can increase the possibilities of getting many chronic diseases and becoming overweight. In short, it can be said that fast walking or morning jog can bring several heath benefits. Plan must be made for everyday activities by remembering that decreasing the “sitting time” can be as significant as increasing the “fitness time”.
