- Purchase a bleaching, pre-lightening and highlighting kit

- Get a bright color dye
For dyeing hair with a bright color, jars of dye can be purchased either from beauty products shops or internet stores.
- Decide the hair area that you want to dye
You can either dye ends of hair or its maximum length depending on your choice. This decision will help in knowing how much amount of dye will be used.
- Preparing dyeing area
Place yourself in front of a sink and a mirror. Floor area on which you will stand or sit during the dyeing must be covered.
- Use apron during dye
Use apron during hair dye. If apron is not available, then a hole can be made in the middle of plastic bag. After making hole, place it over your head. Use an obsolete hand towel for covering your neck.
- Mix pre-lightening or bleach kit according to the directions on package.
- Thoroughly brush or comb your hair.

- Now wash or condition your hair according to package directions. Bleaching process can be repeated if you think that hair is not lightened enough.
- Mix colored dye as per the directions of package and again divide your hair.
- Use a brush for applying dye on the bleached area of hair.
- Cover every dyed part with either a plastic bag or aluminum foil and leave dye on hair according to package directions.
- Remove plastic or foil. Now wash and condition your hair. Do not wash hair immediately; instead wash them as per the directions.
- Now style your hair in usual manner.
